The more time a teenage girl spends online at age 15, the greater her risk of experiencing anxiety symptoms at age 17. This is true for girls, but not for boys. This is the finding of a study by University of Sherbrooke postdoctoral fellow Gabriel Arantes Tiraboschi, published in the journal Preventive Medicine Reports, which earned him the Relève étoile Paul-Gérin-Lajoie award from the Fonds de recherche du Québec.
